COTGRAVE: CHANGES TO THE APPOINMENT SYSTEM
From Tuesday 30th April the appointment system at Cotgrave Surgery will be changing.
This means a move away from the current system where all calls are dealt with first by a telephone call from a GP.
The main changes will be:
- Patients will be able to book GP appointments in advance directly with the reception team
- There will be a mix of telephone and bookable face to face appointments available each day for urgent same day issues
- If you would prefer a telephone appointment, as under the current system, please ask the receptionist
- GP appointments will be bookable online – please ask us if you would like to sign up for online services
- Pre-bookable extended hours appointments will still be available every evening and weekend as is currently the case.
We hope these changes will be welcomed. They will help to make our service to our patients more sustainable.
We will be monitoring the availability of advance bookable and urgent same day appointments carefully over the next 4-8 weeks to try and ensure we get the balance right.
Please remember that your local pharmacy team can offer advice about a range of common conditions and minor injuries. These include aches and pains, sore throat, coughs, colds, flu, earache, cystitis, skin rashes, teething, red eye amongst others.
We now offer patients at all of our surgeries a range of online services via our website. These include the ability to book routine appointments online, to request repeat prescriptions and to view you summary medical record including past and current medications and recorded allergies.
You can register for these services by visiting your surgery and speaking with one of our receptionists. You will need to bring with you photographic identification (passport or driving license) and one other form of identification confirming your current address. For more information please click here.
EXTENDED HOURS APPOINTMENTS
As a Rushcliffe patient you can now access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends. These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.
You can book through your surgery during opening hours for appointments between 6.30pm and 8pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 12.30pm at weekends. If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse or Healthcare Assistant at one of three locations across the borough.
The location will depend on the day of your appointment.
The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:
- East Bridgford Medical Centre
- Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
- Keyworth Medical Practice.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL EXTENDED HOURS APPOINTMENTS ARE PREBOOKABLE ONLY BY CONTACTING YOUR OWN GP PRACTICE.
THERE IS NO WALK IN SERVICE OFFERED.
IF YOU REQUIRE URGENT ASSISTANCE BEFORE 8AM OR AFTER 6.30PM, PLEASE CALL 111.
