Appointments

Non-urgent advice: Booking an appointment

Please telephone our receptionists to arrange an appointment.

Online booking is also available for GP appointments.

We try our best to give enough time for each patient whilst trying to minimise waiting times. Each patient requires an individual booked appointment (including if attending with another family member). If you have more than one problem, please ask for a double appointment.

Non-urgent advice: Urgent appointments

If you have a problem that needs urgent attention and cannot wait for a routine consultation, please phone the surgery ideally before 10:30am. The receptionist will be able to discuss options with you, and also make you aware of community pharmacists who can assist with most minor illnesses.

Non-urgent advice: Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Late & Missed Appointments Policy

Please help us by arriving in good time for your appointment.

Patients arriving late have missed their appointment and will be required to rebook. This promotes fairness for patients who have arrived on time and avoids delay.

Missed and late appointments impact on our provision of care to patients who need our services.

If you opt into mobile messaging, we can text you to remind you about your upcoming appointment.

Please take the time to cancel any appointment you will not be able to attend as soon as you can, preferably by 24 hours prior to the appointment time, by contacting us on 0115 896 9991, or by clicking here. You can also cancel via text message if you have signed up to receive appointment reminders.

We monitor patients who persistently miss appointments, or fail to give sufficient notice that they cannot attend.

Unfortunately, patients who have missed 3 appointments in 12 months will receive a formal warning letter and may be removed from the practice list.

Rushcliffe Enhanced Access Service

As a Rushcliffe patient you can access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends. These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.

You can book through your surgery during opening hours, for appointments between 6.30pm and 8pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 5.00pm at weekends. If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or First Contact Physiotherapist at one of five locations across the borough.

The location will depend on the day of your appointment.

The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:

  • Cotgrave Health Centre
  • Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
  • East Leake Health Centre
  • Keyworth Medical Practice
  • Radcliffe-on-Trent Health Centre

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ENHANCED HOURS APPOINTMENTS ARE PREBOOKABLE ONLY BY CONTACTING YOUR OWN GP PRACTICE. THERE IS NO WALK IN SERVICE OFFERED.

Home Visits

Please telephone reception before 09.30am if you require a home visit. We will only accept emergency requests for visits after this time.

We reserve home visits exclusively for those who are genuinely housebound or unable to attend the surgery due to their medical illness or palliative needs. The doctor will contact you to assess your medical needs and may ask you to attend the surgery via taxi or lift, where appropriate.

Please remember that we have full access to medical records, with better examination, diagnostic and treatment facilities at the Health Centre, where we can help several patients in the time taken to make one home visit.
